TVNZ/Newstalk ZB: Researchers attempt to silence the lambs

Scientists all over the world are looking into strategies which would reduce the amount of methane produced by livestock.

“Everything from changing the animal’s diets to breeding new sheep has been attempted, but researchers are becoming continually frustrated by livestock emission. Cocktails of clover, garlic, and cottonseed and doses of chloroform have also been administered to no avail.

“Livestock expert Simone Hoskin from Massey University told the Wall Street Journal that they are at a very theoretical stage in their research and that “a lot of people think we are insane”.”
