The NZ SMC has a clear policy on journalists who qualify for access to our materials:
- Journalists employed by a recognised news outlet subject to the oversight of either the Broadcasting Standards Authority, or the New Zealand Media Council.
- Journalists working for overseas organisations covered by their home jurisdiction’s equivalent of the BSA or NZMC.
- Freelance journalists whose work has been published at least 6 times over the preceding 6 months by organisations that fit the above criteria, and whose published work demonstrates adherence to journalistic standards.
- Individuals studying for a recognised tertiary journalism qualification, when recommended and supported by their course convenor.
