BRIEFING: Lake Rotomahana investigation – release of results

Project Leader Cornel de Ronde of GNS Science will announce results of his team’s just-completed survey of Lake Rotomahana.

The international project used underwater robots to explore the lake bed, searching for hydrothermal vents and any surviving remains of the famed Pink and White Terraces, which were destroyed in the 1886 eruption of Mt Tarawera.

Two representatives of the Te Arawa Lakes Trust will also attend the briefing.
