The meteor that exploded over the skies of New Zealand this week has left a trial of media coverage in its wake.
The suspected meteor lit up the skies across the country and caused a loud boom around 10pm on Wednesday night
Auckland astronomer Dr Grant Christie told the New Zealand Herald that expected the fireball had an equivalent energy release of tens of tonnes of TNT.
