The Royal Society Te Apārangi is proud to host the Science Media Centre.
The Society is an independent not-for-profit organisation with a vision for Aotearoa New Zealand to be guided and inspired by science and research.
It incorporates New Zealand’s national Academy, and more than 1,500 Fellows, Companions, Members, and staff, as well as 60 member organisations.
The Society grows pathways of knowledge to ensure that science and research are shared for the benefit of all. Its functions include promoting education and excellence in science and research, strengthening public understanding of science and research, supporting researchers and innovators, and providing expert advice to government and communities.
