Conservation week takes place this week and is New Zealand’s biggest green event. It’s been running since 1969 and is coordinated by the Department of Conservation with input from a wide range of groups. Messages and themes reflect key conservation priorities and a range of activities and promotions have been arranged throughout New Zealand. The theme for 2008 is about getting out in your region to ‘Meet the Locals’.
